Escape the everyday and discover a world of adventure. Travel Solo and bring the world closer. Places where the seas gleam and the skies are blue.

Solo travel is addictive. It will change your life and open up the world to you.

It is an intimidating prospect – perhaps you’re wondering if it’s right for you or if the benefits outweigh the scary stuff?

The answer is yes, solo travel is worth it. Don’t sit around feeling stuck in your tiny corner of the planet, don’t wait someone to tag along – go now! Make 2019 the year you begin your grandest adventures!

If you still need convincing here’s my top five reasons to travel solo.

1. Please yourself

You don’t need to worry about what anyone else wants to do. No “I don’t mind what do you want to do?” You just do.

You choose the destination, the hotel – everything! No compromising.

2. Push yourself

You have no idea what you are capable of until you try. It might seem crazy to hop on a plane by yourself but it is truly rewarding. The simple act of challenging yourself and stepping out of your comfort zone gives you a buzz that lasts long after you’ve returned home.

3. Speak up

Travelling solo forces you to make all the decisions and take all the responsibility. There’s no sitting back and letting someone else do the talking. Scary but so rewarding. Solo travel shows just how capable you can be.

4. See more

When you’re not surrounded by friends/family/partners you can look and listen to the world around you. Notice the little things you might have otherwise missed. Breathe it all in with no distractions.

5. Seize the possibilities

You know what to expect when you travel with company. When you go it alone there’s the chance of adventure! You open yourself up to a million possibilities – you might meet new people, make new friends, connect with someone from a completely different culture, or even find romance. You just never know!

So what are you waiting for? Live your boldest dreams.

I always use booking.com for Hotels as I find their website really easy to use and there’s some great deals.

For flights I’ve tried lots of sites but Skyscanner is my regular choice now. It has the option of viewing a month of flights which makes it easy to find the cheapest dates to travel.
